We did it! Curasalve is officially certified organic by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Since 2018, we have sourced 100% organic and natural ingredients for our products and we sought an official badge from NSF to prove it. Our organic diaper paste is made with five clean ingredients: non-nano zinc oxide, organic coconut oil, organic jojoba oil, organic beeswax and organic aloe vera. We selected the highest quality and most skin nourishing ingredients to develop Curasalve’s diaper paste. Accordingly, our product met the NSF 305 certified organic standard.
While other standards exist, the NSF 305 certified organic standard is the only American National Standard for personal care products making organic ingredient claims. To become certified to this standard, products must undergo a thorough review by an independent organic certification organization to verify that a manufacturer’s product formulation contains at least 70 percent organic content by weight.
Similar to the NOP regulations for other organic products, the NSF “contains organic ingredients” standard has specific requirements for organic ingredient, material, process and production specifications. Choosing a product certified by NSF lets you know the company complies with strict standards and procedures imposed by NSF. From extensive product testing and material analyses to unannounced plant inspections, every aspect of a product's development is thoroughly evaluated before it can earn the NSF certification.
Most importantly, NSF certification is not a one-time event, but involves regular on-site inspections of manufacturing facilities and regular re-testing of products to ensure that they continue to meet the same high standards required to maintain certification over time.
The Curasalve family is proud to deliver a clean, organic product to families and will continue to live up to our commitment to produce clean, organic products.
